BRENDAN Fevola has been crowned king of the South African jungle by winning
reality series I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!
The controversial former AFL player achieved his mission by sleeping 44 nights in the jungle, that being to change public opinion after a series of controversies throughout his career including a stint in rehab for alcohol and gambling.
“Coming over here, it wasn’t about anything else for me but just to try to change the perception of myself back home because I’ve obviously had a bit of a chequered past,” he said.
“I just wanted them to see the real me. We are in the jungle, what a privilege to get asked to do this show. To come on this show meet eleven other great people and to learn about their lives, I’ve had fun every single day. I didn’t think I had the mental capacity to stick through it with the tucker trials and stuff and my mind just went into bang and I just did it.
